Sherry and Chamomile

Since 1933, the chamomile of Sanlúcar de Barrameda was marketed under the Denomination of Origin Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, the oldest regulatory council in Spain. However, in 1964 the regulation of said denomination was modified, creating the Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda designation of origin, officially recognizing the special character of chamomile within the other chiefs and both denominations being protected by the same Regulatory Council.

Its spongy and deep soils of albarizas together with a privileged climate of summers and mild winters and its almost 300 days of sunshine a year, make this area a privileged area that gives rise to some of the most incredible wines in the world.

Its system of soleras and criaderas gives rise to generous sherry, natural sweets from Jerez, generous liquors from Jerez and of course the delicious chamomile from San Lucar de Barrameda.

The white authorized white grape varieties are: Palomino de Jerez, Palomino Fino, Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel. Currently, no red grapes are used. This DO is located in the Province of Cádiz, encompassing the terms of: Jerez de la Frontera, Puerto de Santa María, Chipiona, Trebujena, Rota, Puerto Real, Chiclana de la Frontera and some payments from Lebrija. In our online store you will find a great selection of wines with D.O. Chamomile-Jerez.
