Rías Baixas
The Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin is especially located in the province of Pontevedra and a small part in that of A Coruña. It is also divided into five sub-zones: Val do Salnés, O Rosal, Ribeira do Ulla, Condado do Tea and Soutomaior. Each area has its soils that characterize it and a fundamentally Atlantic climate that gives these wines great personality and freshness.
Its most representative wines are white wines of excellent quality made with the preferred white varieties and authorized in this Denomination of Origin that are: Albariño, Caiño blanco, Treixadura, Godello, Loureira and Torrontés.
The preferred and authorized red varieties in this Denomination of Origin are: Caiño Tinto, Espadeiro, Loureiro Tinto, Sousón, Mencía, Brancellao and Pedral.
